Argos Sign Speedster, Extend Corner

The Toronto Argonauts made two moves today, extending American CB Robertson Daniel and signing American WR Earnest Edwards.

Daniels was brought in during the past offseason with the expectation he would serve as the team’s boundary corner. Unfortunately, an injury suffered in the team’s season opener kept the 30-year old out until the last game of the regular season.

Earnest Edwards played seven games for the Edmonton Elks in 2021, contributing 15 catches for 168 yards and a touchdown while returning a combined 30 kickoffs and punts.

Edwards played his college ball at Maine where he attracted the attention of the Los Angeles Rams with his 4.4. speed. The Argos struggled to stretch the field last season also failed to register a punt or kick return touchdown, something Edwards will look to remedy in 2022.
