Argos Sign DL Connor Flagel

The Argonauts have signed 6’5”, 296lb American DL Connor Flagel.

Flagel spent three seasons at Central Missouri before signing as a UDFA with the Tennessee Titans and Oakland Raiders in the spring and summer of 2018.

He was playing indoor football with the Arizona Rattlers when the Ottawa REDBLACKS came calling in 2020. Flagel spent parts of the past two years on Ottawa’s roster, but was never active.

Given the state of the REDBLACKS last season, Flagel’s inability to crack the active roster doesn’t inspire confidence, but there is plenty to like about his game. He’s powerful with great explosion off the ball, he can get skinny through the line, and he hits like a truck. He’s still very raw and it’s been an adjustment for Flagel moving to the inside of the line, but with some experience under his belt and a chance to start from scratch in a new environment, there’s always hope.
