Argos Sign 6'3" DB Deion Harris

The Toronto Argonauts have signed 6’3”, 197lb American DB Deion Harris.

Harris, a small school corner at North Dakota, was once projected as a third round pick in the NFL Draft, but an achilleas tear in his junior year sent him down a different path. He signed as a UDFA with the Washington Football Team in 2019 and spent the early part of that season on the practice squad before being released.

Most recently, Harris was a member of the XFL’s DC Defenders, but was only active for the final two games of the season, tallying three tackles.

Harris faces relatively long odds when it comes to making the club in a super-talented secondary, but his film is impressive and his measurables are good, so there’s definitely a chance. Harris has average speed, but great change of direction and an excellent first step. He disguises coverage nicely and diagnoses well in zone. His man coverage is solid, though he has trouble staying with elite speed deep downfield. Harris will likely find himself in a battle with Robertson Daniel to back up Jamal Peters at boundary corner.
