The Toronto Argonauts have signed speedy American WR Darece Roberson Jr.
The 2021 Argos receivers weren’t slow, but there were certainly times when it would have been beneficial to have a blazer other than Chandler Worthy take the top off opposing defenses and create space underneath for their more possession-oriented stars. The Boatmen are hoping they’ve found that guy in Roberson.
The 5’10”, 170lb receiver earned academic honours at Wayne State and was literally a track star, clocking a time of 10.79 in the 100m before posting a 4.3 second 40 at his pro day. On the field, Roberson scored 24 touchdowns in 33 starts, cashing in as a receiver, punt returner, and kickoff returner.
